Week 4: Reading, writing and vocabulary skills

Hello everyone,

The job for Week 4 is nearly done. What have we been doing? Where have we been exploring?

This week we touched 'Reading, writing and vocabulary skills'. In fact we just touched, because the resourses provided are numerous and definitely worth of attention. The group collaboration is amazing, looks like through the week co-teaching.

For the first, I would like to mention an article by Isabella Villa Boas, Process Writing and Internet: Blogs and Ning Networks in the classroom (2011). It illustrates how instructors can utilise the latest technology to promote writing. It reflects my personal interest in Blogs. I am going to introduce it for my Essay class in February.
Creating a technology enhanced plan turned to be a bit challenging but useful. Moreover there is a wonderful opportunity to observe other plans. Careful planning has always been crucially important. So, it is one more chance to polish our skills.

The multi-skills websites provide a great amount of activities for any level. ESL Endependent Study Lab http://www.lclark.edu/~krauss/toppicks/toppicks.html
and Activities for Students http://a4esl.org/ are my best findings. They can be effective almost for every class. Laury's ESL Website - is a wonderful tool for individual use and out of class studying. Here are some more findings of the week:

Summing up, one more productive week!
Ready for new openings!

As always, your blog post is very thoughtful!

Yes, I agree with you that we have only touched the surface of the resources provided. With time, we will be able to explore much more and get to know the finer details of the various websites and webpages related to skill development.

    Happy exploring!
